Wedding Celebrant

Congratulations on your Engagement!

Dave-wedding-walkIt is such an exciting time of your life for you both, the start of a journey together as Husband and Wife. There are many decisions to make in regards to your wedding ceremony, it can be one of the most exciting and creative things you will do in your life. Part of organising your wedding is organising a Civil Marriage Celebrant – someone that can help make your marriage legal and recognised as such. The priority of a professional Celebrant, is to give you, the couple, a complete choice of ceremony. A ceremony that is also legal to the requirements of the Australian Law. You may want a ceremony that is unique and creative or traditional and elegant  Or you may want a ceremony that is down to earth and that has humour in it. Or you may want a combination of all of the above! There are many different ways to approach putting together a wedding ceremony. One of the ways I’m most passionate about is by starting off getting to know you, the couple first.

Who are you? Where are you coming from? Do you have ideas about your ceremony? Whether you know exactly what you want or you don’t know what you want, I make the process of putting the ceremony together, easy. I will explain the choices available to you. And use my knowledge and intuition to guide you. Once you book with me, I will share with you my personal resources, including collections of ceremonies, vows and readings. You are also encouraged to do your own research. Then, with your input, I’ll put the ceremony together until every word feels right. On the day, I’ll read the ceremony in a heartfelt, clear and professional way with an attitude that brings warmth, sometimes humour and sacredness to the event.

Choosing your celebrant

Marriage celebrants are as individual as the couples they marry. Yes we come in all age groups, male and female and the majority of us enjoy our work as a Marriage Celebrant. I love being involved in a couple’s wedding. And you need to feel relaxed and comfortable in whom you choose as your Marriage Celebrant, and I believe it’s a two way deal as I like to feel comfortable with the couples I am about to marry. It is a very personal thing: you want someone who will be organised, helpful and supportive, but above all else, you want to like the person you have chosen to marry you. Your Marriage Celebrant should, in some way reflect you as a couple.
